Grandmother Oak“A vision without a task remains a dream..
A task with out a vision is just a job.
A task with a vision can change the world.

Vision Fasts foster a relationship with Earth, Spirit and Community that is based in gratitude and service. The individual's own spiritual journey is essential to the creation and nurturance of spiritual community that in turn supports the growth of the individual. This best occurs when the individual intention and gift meet the community need and future.

Location:Breadloaf Wilderness, South Lincoln, Vermont

Program Fee: Program Fee: $100 - $175 Sliding Fee
Deposit: Deposit: $50 (Non refundable; Applies to Program Fee)

This weekend retreat can serve as an introduction to the vision fast or as renewal fast for adults who have previously enacted a vision fast and want to renew their intention and seek deeper levels of understanding.

What in your life is calling you?

All that dwells in Nature will hold a mirror for you when you bring yourself into a listening silence. Answers will emerge in bird song, dancing ferns, small tracks in the soft earth, and the stillness of stones.

On the first day, we will explore how the natural world serves as mirror, practice deep listening and each hear our own and others’ intentions within a Circle. On Saturday, participants will go out on solo with the option of staying overnight. Sunday morning we will all come back together to share the stories we have brought back from the land.

Participants are introduced to practices that support continued spiritual development through deep listening to self, dreams, stories, nature, and spirit.

The Program Fee covers all program related fees and expenses.

Participants provide their own camping gear, meals, and transportation to the base camp in South Lincoln.

Reincorporation Support

The return to home, work and community often brings challenges. We get caught up in our daily routines. Life events test our resolve. We seem to forget what really happened on the mountain. Renewal Fasts are offered each year to return, to remember and to deepen commitments made during the solo fast. Renewal programs are shorter in duration, from 3-5 days. Councils are held throughout the year for anyone who has enacted a solo fast. At these gatherings we support each other’s unfolding spiritual journey. Mentoring and Coaching are offered for those who want individual support and guidance.

Day Walks

Day Walks offer a day in solitude, carrying a question or a yearning that is pressing in your life. Participants meet the evening before in a Council to clarify intention and receive instructions for the day walk including the option of fasting. The next day from dawn to dusk, people begin their walk in a natural setting, following the inclinations of their heart, the wanderings of their mind and the call of the land and its inhabitants. A story emerges in response to the question. A second Council is held either that evening or the next morning where the stories are heard and reflected back for meaning.
